September will be a busy month for the Bay View Neighborhood Association.  We hope to see you at one of our events this fall!

ALL MEMBER QUARTERLY MEETING AND MEMBERSHIP SOCIAL - September 10th

Please join the Board of the BVNA on Wednesday, September 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Bay View library for an all-member quarterly meeting.  All current and prospective members are invited to attend.  Hear about our plans for the rest of 2008, share your thoughts and feedback, and meet your Board and other neighbors.  We'll cross the street for a membership social at the nonsmoking Alchemist Theater Lounge immediately after.

OUR BEACHES NEED YOU - Beach Clean-Up September 20th

We have officially adopted Bay View Beach!  As part of the Alliance for the Great Lakes Adopt-A-Beach program, the BVNA has adopted Bay View Beach North.  We will be heading out periodically throughout the year to clean up the beach, test the water quality, and record other environmental data for reporting back to the Alliance.  Join us for our first beach cleanup, as part of the International Coastal Cleanup, Saturday, September 20th at 9:00 a.m.  Meet us by the steps in Bay View Park for coffee and donuts at 8:45.  Pre-registration is encouraged.  Swimsuits and water rings optional.  Please visit this link to register:  http://greatlakesadopt.org/home.php

GOODBYE CHILL ON THE HILL

THANK YOU everyone for your fantastic support of the 2008 Chill on the Hill concert series.  From the perfect weather, to the generous sponsors, to the enthusiastic crowds and talented musicians, hardworking volunteers and parks crew, we couldn't have asked for a better season.  But we can ask for your input and suggestions for 2009!  Follow this link to make your voice heard!

A SAFETY SECOND - Crime Analysis Meeting September 17th

The next District 2 Crime Analysis Meeting will be held Wednesday, September 17th at 6:00 p.m. at the Old Water Tower Building, 4001 S 6th Street.  This is a great opportunity to meet District 2 Community Liaison Officer Jose Arzaga.  You may reach Officer Arzaga at anytime a 935-7228.  Remember to report all crimes to the non-emegency telephone number 933-4444.  Program the into your cellphone, so you'll have it on-hand anytime you need it.  If you can not attend the meetings, notes are always posted on our website at the About Us tab, at the Public Safety Comittee page.

TRICK OR TREAT - October 25th

Hard to believe October is right around the corner.  Committee Chair Heather Ryan will be seeking additional volunteers to help with getting the word out and about regarding Night Time Trick or Treat in Bay View, which will occur Saturday, October 25th from 5:00 - 8:00 this year.  Anyone interested in reviving the Pumpkin Palace...?  With enough volunteers, we can make it happen!  Contact us at bayviewneighborhood.org to get something started!
