About a year ago, I  blogged about the possibility of the Internet being taxed.

It’s happening in New York.

The New York Times has details including numerous comments from unhappy readers.

Few people like taxes. This is why I am disgusted with the ways around paying local sales taxes. It costs people who do not shop on the internet. In effect, we are paying for freeloaders. These Interent stores not having the overhead of collecting and then paying sales taxes only adds to the difficulty of small business within the state trying to make ends meet. There is a place for Internet stores. For example, I recently bought a clothes drier from Sears entirely on the Internet and had it installed without me ever having to burn a drop of gasoline or take the time going to and wandering around a store.  I paid my sales taxes. It's way past time that residents of the state pay thier share of our taxes. After all, misery, when it comes to taxes, NEEDS company.
