McCain, the straight shooting cuss.

I don't believe that anyone running for president is any better than any one else. That's democracy.

I've got used to the idea that “General” McCain, or is it Commander-n-chief McCain will be our next president. The conservatives are going to be mad as hell after he gets into the White House. The liberals will join the conservatives in their grief.

I've also got used to the price of $3 gasoline and the promised $4 dollar gasoline for this summer and even the $6 gasoline by the time McCain leaves office. Eventually gasoline will come in perfume-sized bottles.

There are many reasons for rejoicing in McCain's presidential possibility. The first is that it will put an end to the Bush and Clinton dynasties and the notion of legacies, perhaps even the possibility of combining presidential libraries. All three could be put in the same presidential library with Regan's to save space and money. We'd need only one airplane then.

McCain's candidacy proves that in this great country anyone really can be president. But to become president, it requires that one is in the right place and at the right time and has sufficient money to run.

And buying that position is going to cost more with each coming election. The rising cost will be like the price of gasoline, eventually we'll not have anymore gasoline but we won't run out of people who'll be running for president.

Another good reason is that McCain doesn't know anything about economics and that would make him quite popular at an economists' convention as most of them do not know much about economics either. They keep inventing new terms in order to prove their esoteric ignorance. At least McCain knows that he doesn't know.

Therefore, he's likely to do some out-of-the box things, especially if he gets an in-the-box congress which is guaranteed.

There are many good reasons for getting a commander president like McCain and I'll mention a few more later.as I think of them.  But the most important one is that he's likely to be a one-term president as he claims. This means that he can lose his temper whenever he damn pleases and even stay in bed late in the morning, which he is going to like to do with each coming year and then cancel a few meetings with so-called “dignitaries.”

He's not going to care as to what he does because “electability” for the second term is not at stake. He's not running So here we'll have a president who will be himself, a straight shooter that is not likely to shot you in the face. He's not going to worry about party or legacy. He's just going to be a grouchy ol' guy like most of the people I know and do the right thing just for the hell of it.

He won't have to prove himself. He'll just be himself on a day to day basis and I don't think he's going to kiss dignitaries on both checks after he's in. Gee, he hates that girly stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if he put his feet up on the desk in the Oval Room. The more I think of it the more I think I'm going to like the coming four years with McCain.

Once he's in, his not going to fly around much especially to Iraq or to those other places that he mixes up, where the extremist come from. I don't know what his hobbies are but he might develop different ones than Bill Clinton did, perhaps like pitching instead. Yeah, he seems like a pitcher type, then standing by and laughing like hell. Who's going to tell him he can't.

The reporters are going to love him. I don't think he's even going to go to church on Sunday's. He's just going to sit around in his pajamas until lunch time. He's going to be better than Harry Truman.  Yeah, give me that good ol' type of president, a straight shooting cussing president.  .
