In the Race

Now, here, you see, it takes all the blogging I can do to keep in the same place.
If I want to get somewhere else, I must blog twice as fast as that!
You see, I'm in the Red Queen's Race...

Considering the events of this week …did anyone else notice the set-up of the photos and article on the front of FranklinNOW? (The photo of the day alternates)

Patty Klement moves a few hanging baskets May 10 during a Mother's Day basket sale at St. Martin of Tours Church. The sale raised funds for the St. Martin of Tours School eighth-grade graduation.

Drug bust nets 2,000 pot plants

Poor Patty ..... All she wants to do is sell her “potted plants.”  It just keeps popping up over the local news feature headline.

And then further down below that….

Volunteers sought for weed-out events
Date: Saturday, May 24
Volunteers are needed to remove invasive plant species

But I just have to say about this photo (in the Photo Gallery in "Drug Bust")

Couldn’t they at least have planted some “
grass?”

A neighbor rides past the home at 2155 E. Ash Court in Oak Creek on Wednesday, a day after authorities
conducted a drug raid there. Three other homes were raided, and one police official called a once-in-a-career bust.

I think a big 'hero of the week' atta person shout-out should go to the consciensious and observant Oak Creek resident that informed authorities of the suspicious activity leading up to the arrests in this incident. Great job!!!

"According to the criminal complaint, there were early signs of suspicious activity. One of the defendants purchased grow lights from a DEA informant in 2006 and even filed a financial transaction report at a bank. Last summer, police went to one of the homes and officers noticed mold growing, but nothing happened." - JSOnline, May 22, 2008

Appearantly both DEA and local authorities had contact involving this suspicious situation but to no avail.

Nothing beats the "eyes on the street" of concerned neighbors.
