I blog….
Sometimes I feel like one of those monkeys because of the antics we have to go through, and watch other people do, too.
It's a regular circus out there....monkey business....
Anyway, the monkey picture is a good one.
This one is good, too...
Hey, I'm hungry...forget the pasta! It's salad days, but hold the dressing...I'm not used to wearing a suit and it might get on my tie....
And those bloggers?
I'll make them an offer they can't refuse....They paid property taxes before, and they're gonna pay them again..and everyone knows it, because it's on these spreadsheets in front of me, which you, too, can get for a modest fee; which is odd, since I'm using them during this official gathering with an official agenda, so why should I have to pay? Do I pay for all of the materials I present at these gatherings? Anyway, Guid-O...I'm as hungry as a horse.
Tax Pledges? We don't need no stinking Tax Pledges! (Oh, wait, that's a different movie).
Yeah, Marlon Brando was a good actor. That picture was from a long time ago so my memory is a little fuzzy.
So many meetings…not enough time.
Do you realize it still feels like winter outside (most of the time) and in 16 days it will already be Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year? That means the days will start getting shorter already!
What happened to enjoying those long evenings outside?
Well, it doesn’t matter…I’d be sitting here at this computer anyway; or in a meeting.
Do any of you readers make business cards? Feel free to throw one together for me with the monkey picture on it!
Next time...Star Wars!

National Sri Lanka Balloon Festival Buddhika Weerasinghe/Reuters
With tough terrain and lack of infrastructure, Sri Lanka is one of the more demanding places to fly a balloon. Buddhika Weerasinghe/Reuters
I don't know if you've ever taken a hot air balloon ride. I know I am going to do it...someday.... Balloon rides make a great gift for someone who has everything or to a couple for a special occasion. Your flight is unpredictable though, as the weather is the master. You can get all set for your balloon ride and just before you are ready for takeoff, your flight may be cancelled. There are hot air balloon festivals all over the world, as nice weather passes across the globe. Sri Lanka just had their breathtaking festival this past week. You can see the rest of the magnificent photos from the slide show at CSMonitorFlying Over Sri Lanka å here
We have a festival in July here in Wisconsin, in Wausau, so if your interested mark your calendars and check out the site for the Wausau Balloon Rally & Glow

or, if you are interested in planning a hot air balloon ride this summer, or giving one for a gift, here are some places you can check out:

I came across a bit of information about a contest called Miss Tourism Queen International.
I have never heard of this contest before, have you?
Here's what Wikipedia has to say about it ~
Miss Tourism Queen International is an annual Chinese-based international beauty contest established in 2004. In July 2007, Miss Tourism Queen International set the record for the most participants in an international beauty contest with 108 women competed, not just from participating countries and territories, but also contestants from provinces known as tourist destinations like Bali and Fernando de Noronha, and regions of special interest like Borneo, Siberia, and Hawaii.
Miss Tourism Queen International was founded by Mr. Charlie See and currently owned by Exclusive Resources Marketing Pte Ltd or ERM, which is private limited company incorporated, based in Singapore.
China sure is busy lately....
You know, with Olympic protests going on and the Tibet crisis....
I don't know where they find the time for a beauty contest.
And this contest goes on for days...March 20-April 12th.
The contest just doesn't seem typical of China to me.
Here is the winner of the bikini portion of the contest, Miss Canada.
The winner must be physically fit.

You can check out the rest of the contestants on the site for
Miss Tourism Queen International í here
By the the way, you can vote for your favorites on the site...$3.00 each vote...

"Despite having hundreds of sonar contacts over the years, the trail has since gone cold and Rines believes that Nessie may be dead, a victim of global warming."
What's that?
Why, we're talking about the Loch Ness Monster, of course!
After 37 years of searching for "Nessie," 85-year-old American, Robert Rines is calling it a day.
It seems he is finally getting too old to continue his search for the Loch Ness Monster.
"World War II veteran Robert has devoted almost half his life to scouring Loch Ness."
"He started in 1971. The following year, he watched a 25ft-long hump with the texture of elephant skin gliding through the water."
"His original trip was to help another monster hunter with sonar equipment and quickly identified large moving targets."
"He was smitten and returned the next year, which is when, he says: "I had the misfortune of seeing one of these things with my own eyes."
Read the entire article from the Daily Record
Veteran Loch Ness Monster Hunter Gives Up í here
It would be a real shame if global warming is what finally did Nessie in.
Wouldn't you think some other critters in the pond would have had the same fate?
Maybe something would have washed up on shore somewhere?
I guess everything just sunk.
Yep.
Pity.

O.K. I guess you are going to need more than a couple of bucks to buy a bottle of this beer!
I'm speaking of Carlsberg ASAs new Vintage No. 1 beer, which their officials say is probably the best and most expensive beer in the world.
The Danish brewer is charging $400 for each bottle (less than a pint).
Three of Copenhagen's most exclusive restaurants will sell the beer, and only 600 bottles will be made.
Brewmaster Jens Eiken said more than 50 have already been purchased.
The brewmaster said the beer, which weighs in at about 10.5 percent alcohol, is stored in Swedish French oak casks in a special place about 50 feet below Carlsberg's old brewery.
Each bottle has a hand-stenciled label by a well-known artist and the empty bottles will be worth about $100 each.
No 10 cent deposits on these babies.

The 2008 Harbin Ice and Snow Festival, in China, is home to the largest snow sculpture ever created.
The sculpture is called Romantic Feelings and is is 115 ft high and 656 ft long.
2008 Harbin Ice and Snow festival, China “Romantic Feelings”
"Romantic Feelings" was made by joining together 15ft square blocks of natural ice and snow, taken from the nearby Songhua River, which have been compressed to withstand blows from hatchets, saws and shovels.
600 sculptors from 40 countries have used 120,000 cubic feet of snow and ice to create the Olympic themed landscape - a vista of Russian churches, French cathedrals, Chinese palaces and, an ice Acropolis.
Many of the sculptures are melting rapidly in the midday sun and emergency repairs have already been carried out to stop them collapsing completely.

Another “beauty” who must have been putting on her mascara during geography class:

Is she really that dumb, or are we just not spending enough time on geography, social studies and history in school?

I DO NOT LIKE OPRAH!
That's right. I said it . . . .
THERE .... So go get all "Unglued" about it. I don't care ....

In the past couple of weeks, the latest stories regarding OPRAH WINFREY have just put me over the edge.
First I heard about the death in the family. Well, I felt bad. A death in the family is always horrific. I heard she was devastated. Just devastated by the loss of her "baby." "Baby?" Wait, Oprah doesn't have any children. This must be a bad mistake. Or I heard it wrong. No .... They said "baby." Oh....THAT BABY. Gracie ....her 2-year old retriever. You know, one of the four dogs she has that she left millions to after she dies?
Now if you or I lost a family pet, you can bet it would not be announced on WORLD NEWS. If we lost a family member it would not be announced on the news. PLEASE!
NEXT, it was the sex abuse scandal with Oprah's girl's school in South Africa. You know the school, the one Oprah built for the girls. The one with all the fanfare and publicity. She couldn't just take her billions of dollars and build it. It had to be a giant media event. Not only on her show, but EVERYWHERE.
Well, it was shocking to me to hear of the abuse going on in the school. And I guess it was shocking to Oprah, too, because, back on November 5th it was reported that Oprah said:
"When I first heard about it I spent about a half-hour going around my house crying,"
What was that? A WHOLE half an hour?
Crying?
I knew Oprah was compassionate, but I never knew how much ....
The next week I heard about "IT." She's so "ill." Poor Oprah. That's why she has gained TWENTY pounds! She's so ill. Well, gee whiz. I was really getting worried for Oprah. I was trying to think of what deadly disease she must have; you know one that makes you put on the pounds. Most illnesses make you lose weight. I thought, must be kidney disease, something bad like that.
Poor Oprah .... It's a THYROID CONDITION. Yep! Do you know how many people have thyroid conditions? Both my sister and sister-in-law have them and have had to drink the iodine cocktail, which subsequently totally burns your whole thyroid out, because they haven't figured out the way to regulate the dosage properly yet. So, you end up on medication the rest of your life. A pill a day.
Still, people LOVE Oprah!
Brandon Renken, a Harvard University graduate who wrote an anti-Oprah column for CampusNut.com, takes issue with Oprah, too:
"No matter who you are, Oprah is NOT like you," he said. "The fact that she can convince you that she is should make you even more afraid of her than I am."
Well, I agree ....
I don't like in-between Oprah, I didn't like skinny Oprah. Not fat Oprah, either (I will make an exception for her acting performance in "The Color Purple," but, she was acting). I don't like her talk show, her Oxygen network show, her "O" Magazine. . . I don't like to see her dance, sing, or change her demographic personality depending on who her guest is at the moment. And I don't like her commercial empire that she tries to shove down our throats every chance she gets.
She preaches about money and how bad things are in the world and then flaunts how she buys nothing but the best for herself. She brainwashes her viewers into buying anything she recommends, she attacks people, and stores/businesses, on her show, who personally have wronged her. She implies she is donating all of the "prizes or gifts" on her show, when actually the sponsors or advertisers are donating them. She worships celebrities on her show and brings on children with problems to display them but rarely helps them, and she lied that she had never done drugs, until she was about to be outed, and then quickly told the truth.
Guess what?
I don't care what you think this time! Unless, like me, YOU also don't like OPRAH!
But I'm fair, I'll still listen to everyone.
So, what do you think?

Santas in Sidney, Australia were warned “Ho, Ho, Ho” is offensive to women.
They should instead belly laugh "Ha, Ha, Ha" to children who approach them during the Christmas season.
That's right, in the spirit of Christmas, these Santas are being warned to be politically correct. That "ho" is too recognizable to woman in the U.S. as implying they might be a, well, you know . . .
Just how old are the kids visiting Santa in Australia anyway????
Just something else to ruin when it comes to Christmas ….
I'd say a few decision-makers in Sydney are "not the full quid."
(They'll know what that means).

And yeah, I’m UNGLUED, as usual ….
How about you?

Top 10 Sports Movies
Bob Cook, of msnbc.com has compiled a list of THE BEST ....
the Top 10 Sports Movies of all-time.
"Rocky" is included in that list, and definitely would be included in mine.
I'll give you his list.
And then throw in a few of mine.
Then let's see if YOU agree or if you have a few you can think of that should be in the TOP 10.
I admit, I'm not familiar with Cook's # 9 (a made for TV movie) or # 7 (actually a Canadian TV series that will be out on DVD).
It must be pretty good for him to include in the Top 10 "Movies of all time."
And I'm just a slight bit "unglued" about his #3 ... just never did understand why people like that one so much ...
Here's his list:
