On The Catwalk - Obama Style

By Janet Evans
Monday, Jun 23 2008, 07:41 PM

The latest “first” for Barack Obama comes off the Milan runway. Calling the U.S. presidential hopeful "the man of the moment," Donatella Versace dedicated her Spring-Summer 2009 collection presented Saturday evening to Obama, creating a style she said was designed for "a relaxed man who doesn't need to flex muscles to show he has power."

Chatting with reporters in the cool of the garden of her private palazzo in downtown Milan at an after-show dinner party, the designer also had some fashion tips for the campaign trail. "I would get rid of the tie and jazz up the shirt," she said.

Well, I am trying to think back a few years as to which leader has been “flexing muscles to show he has power.”  Reagan?  No.  Bush 41?  No.  Clinton?  No.

Bush 43?  Let me think….Uh, huh.  No.

No….None of those leaders really had any six pack abs to flaunt that I recall.  No great biceps either.  Nope.

Still, it could be a comment about Bush 43.  It could be a comment about mental muscle.  If that comment is directed at Bush….it should be taken as a compliment.  And it will make me feel that much more secure to know if Barack Obama ends up in the White House, at least he will be dressing well when he can’t make tough decisions.

Eyes to the "Center" Signor!

Silvio Berlusconi              From Wikipedia

He’s been in trouble with his wife for wondering eyes in the past.

He even publicly apoligized to his wife last year for flirting.

It appears he hasn't learned his lesson.

Silvio Berlusconi, Italian politician, just can’t help himself.

Now he says right-wing female politicians are much better looking.

Mr. Berlusconi was quoted as saying that when he looked round parliament, he found that female politicians from the right were "more beautiful."

"The left has no taste, even when it comes to women," the 71-year-old was quoted as saying.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez

If I were John McCain…I’d be shaking in my boots right now….

Why?

Because Cindy Sheehan’s best friend, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a harsh U.S. critic, warned, this week, that his relations with the United States would worsen if McCain becomes president.

Oh, really?

First of all, just how much worse could his relations with us get?

No matter where he sets foot, this guy is a bully and a loud mouth.

And I know I will make sure I pay attention to his opinion on who he thinks I should cast my vote for in the election.

Chavez said McCain “seemed warlike.”

Okay, Mr. Red Beret….I guess compared to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Ralph Nader, you could say John McCain might appear “warlike.”

Or did you really mean to say likes war?

I don’t know.

All I do know is, like those in the past have said to you,
 “Shut up, Chavez!”

Nobody cares!

Gone, But Not Forgotten

By Janet Evans

CBS 60 minutes aired a gripping interview with George Piro, who was the FBI interrogator of Saddam Hussein.  What this interview reveals, makes me feel even better than I did before about the fact that we were able to capture Saddam, and that he was put to death for his atrocities.

If this interview wasn't enough, it's what's buried deep inside of it, and is now being reported by The Wall Street Journal, that makes one really pay attention.  They say CBS buried the fact that Saddam reveals weapons of mass destruction remained a threat as long as he remained in power.

Here is an excerpt from The Wall Street Journal:

The Lebanese-born Mr. Piro, one of only a handful of agents at the bureau who speaks Arabic, was able to wheedle information from Saddam over a matter of months through a combination of flattery and ego-deflation that worked wonders with the former despot. But as Bruce Chapman of the Discovery Institute first noticed, the most important news in the segment comes when Mr. Piro describes his conversations with Saddam about weapons of mass destruction. The FBI interrogator says that, while Saddam said he no longer had active WMD programs in 2003, the dictator admitted that he intended to resume those programs as soon as he possibly could.

Here's the relevant segment, which appears well down in the interview:

Mr. Piro: "The folks that he needed to reconstitute his program are still there."

Mr. Pelley: "And that was his intention?"

Mr. Piro: "Yes."

Mr. Pelley: "What weapons of mass destruction did he intend to pursue again once he had the opportunity?"

Mr. Piro: "He wanted to pursue all of WMD. So he wanted to reconstitute his entire WMD program."

Mr. Pelley: "Chemical, biological, even nuclear."

Mr. Piro: "Yes."

This interview just brings forth additional information to show the false accusations saying President Bush "lied" about WMDs are just that...false. *   If Saddam had stayed in power, there always would have been the WMD threat.

Save the Planet .... Abort Your Child....

Meet the women who won't have babies -
because they're not eco friendly

“Had Toni Vernelli gone ahead with her pregnancy ten years ago, she would know at first hand what it is like to cradle her own baby, to have a pair of innocent eyes gazing up at her with unconditional love, to feel a little hand slipping into hers - and a voice calling her Mummy. But the very thought makes her shudder with horror. Because when Toni terminated her pregnancy, she did so in the firm belief she was helping to save the planet.”

Read the full story here from the       Daily Mail    ◄

Quotes from another Enviro-nutcase in the article, Sara Irving:

"I realised then that a baby would pollute the planet - and that never having a child was the most environmentally friendly thing I could do."

What I consider mad are those women who ferry their children short distances in gas-guzzling cars."

_______________________________________________

What is WRONG with these women?

Aborting your baby to save the planet?  Right ....

You made a big difference, didn't you, Toni?

Maybe your baby would have been the next great scientist.

Fine if you don't want to have any more children in the future.

It's probably better for the world that YOU are not a parent in the first place.

I have heard of many reasons to abort a child, but this one really has me "Unglued."

"When I tell people why I don't want children, they look at me as if I was planning to commit murder. "

You Toni are either fooling yourself, or you are a selfish freak of the environment you want to protect . . . .

A baby is not a disposable item for the environment . . . .

Alright ...  so go back up and read the article if you didn't.

Then, let's get ready for the DEBATE.

I know there will be one.

 WHAT DO YOU THINK???????????

"Shut up, Chavez" is ringtone hit"

King Juan Carlos (r) at a summit in Chile

The King of Spain's recent undiplomatic outburst at the Venezuelan president has become a ringtone hit across Spain.

An estimated 500,000 people have downloaded the insult featuring the words
"Why don't you shut up?", generating a reported 1.5m euros ($2m). "

See the BBC News Report     ◄  Here

In Venezuela, a group of students who oppose Mr Chavez's government have also been downloading the ringtone, a US newspaper reported.

"It's a form of protest," a 21-year-old student in Caracas told the Miami Herald. "It's something that a lot of people would like to tell the president."

Hmm ….

Looks like the youth of Caracas is a bit “unglued” over Chavez!

You go Guys!

"Shut up” Chavez ....

IBERO AMERICAN SUMMIT

King to Chavez: "Why don't you shut up!"

11/10/2007

Spanish King Juan Carlos on Saturday angrily told President Hugo Chavez to shut up as the Venezuelan leader was involved in a heated verbal exchange with the head of the Spanish government, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.

The unusual incident during the final plenary session of the Ibero American summit here was triggered by strong criticism by Chavez of former Spanish president Jose Maria Aznar, whom he repeatedly called a fascist.

Zapatero addressed the session to tell Chavez he should respect, even in spite of political differences with Aznar, a conservative who was a close allied of U.S. President George Bush and strongly supported the war in Iraq.

Aznar “is a fascist,” said Chavez. “Fascists are not human. A snake is more human than a fascist.”

”There is a basic principle in diplomacy, and that is respect,” Zapatero said. “If one wants to be respected, one has to respect.”

As Zapatero calmly spoke, Chavez repeatedly tried to interrupt him but his microphone was off. At one point, as the Venezuelan leftist leader continued, the King, sitting next to Zapatero, turned to Chavez, and angrily told him: “Why don't you shut up!”.
