Can you put a price on mystery?

Evidently, you can. And that price is right around $300K…

Back in 1990, while vacationing with a group of friends in the Dells, I was lucky enough to visit one of the most amazing places in the world.

Located off the beaten path in Lake Delton, Wisconsin, there was a little red cabin in the middle of the woods known as “The Wonder Spot”. It was said that this place supposedly defied the laws of gravity. Legend spoke of strange forces at work at this site- forces that made water flow uphill, chairs balance on two legs, and ropes hang crooked from ceilings.

The cause of these strange phenomena has been under debate since the inception of The Wonder Spot back in 1957.

Some folks claim to have measured the spot with high tech scientific gadgets and have concluded that the area contains “strange” magnetic forces that have “eerie” effects on people and objects that enter the spot.

Others say that when you build a slanted cabin built on the side of a hill in such a way, it fools your eye into believing everything is being strangely warped by gravity.

To others (mainly under the age of 12), it’s the coolest place in the world that no scientist has ever been able to explain!

Whatever the explanation, the Wonder Spot’s mysterious forces can not overcome its date with a bulldozer.

It turns out “The Spot” was sold off to the Town of Lake Delton by owner Bill Carney, and plans are in the works to build a highway through the area.

A highway through The Wonder Spot?

What is happening to this world? First, they build an apartment building over Jesus’ grave and now they are paving over the Wonder Spot.

Armageddon, folks.

What concerns me most is the safety of future travelers of this highway; I mean with the influence of all that unnatural energy there, it could have detrimental effects on the cars that use this stretch of road.

I can only hope that the town of Lake Delton will take a proactive approach and post signs warning travelers of this potential hazard.
