Just really sick of it all, and only 100 days and Obama is putting up more citizenry whipping posts than all of our presidents. No idea of what is right. Just loves being wrong, everything he does is wrong. Make the government save a measly amount through attrition ( Ha, Ha, Ha,Ha, what a joke)and spend 3 trillion dollars his first year in office on a crappy budget that does nothing but fill the pockets of the Democrats.

Obama had his favorite pizza restaurant cook flown into Washington so he could enjoy some home made Pizza at the White House, great Attrition, he is going to make Senator Kennedy look like a beginner crooked Politician. There are so many things to get sick about in our new government every day he (Obama & Democrats in Congress) go exactly against what is morally right and upstanding to support American values. What a sickening way to start out a beautiful day. I'm done, more positive things to think about.

"Napolitano said, it can be boiled down to this, if you don't agree with what we say or do you are an extremist."

Long before our own Jumping Joe McCarthy took center stage chasing pinkos, most American politicians used this same hammer both to frighten the citizenry and to justify their own bigotry. When are we going to realize that Ron Paul is more right than wrong about our failed unconstitutional governance, and begin to expect better?

Kyle's reply: By the way, Missouri law enforcement was instructed to be wary of cars that posted 3rd party candidates bumper stickers. All of this in less than 100 days! I can't even imagine where we might be in a year or two. Remember, this President was best know as a Senator who voted "present" on every important issue. He is naive and weak and this is dangerous. As for what Napolitano said, it can be boiled down to this, if you don't agree with what we say or do you are an extremist. Tea party attendees were lumped into the same category as skin-heads.

re: 4K spending high: 4th grade reading scores low

Do you really think that if a child goes to 4k that that child should ultimately have better test scores later in their education than one who does not? I really dont understand the logic. Each child is an individual and derives different lessons from education. Education is not simply about test scores. Education is all encompassing. Doesnt it make sense for a child to have that advantage.

Again all the comments you post or are posted echo the same thing. "It costs too much". This group's selfish interests are really quite pathetic and should be soundly derided if they were not so pathetic. What is next lets cut kindergarten, because kids really dont learn to read and write there anyway so must be a waste of taxpayer dollars. Better yet. Let's cut elementary schools because real learning doesnt begin until 6th grade.

Kyle's reply: FYI, school attendance is not compulsory until age 6, 1st grade. No one said anything about cutting elementary schools. As for comments posted, I am not censoring them based on pro 4K or against 4K. I only censor based on tone or objectionable content.

Since there is not an unlimited supply of tax dollars, there is nothing wrong with channeling tax dollars into the programs that produce the best, most long lasting results. You call that desire pathetic. May I suggest you wishing others to pay for something you want, that is not a necessity, selfish.

I do agree that test scores are not the end all and be all in measuring learning, however, they are the measuring stick used by public education. High ACT and SAT scores and other test scores are what school districts tout when promoting their district against another. Certainly if 4th grade reading skills go down when students attend 4K as compared to higher reading skills without 4K, that disparity does little to promote 4K as a necessity to excelling later in school.

Happy Harvest vegetables - $0.45 (Now $0.59) 31% increase

Happy Harvest red kidney beans $0.45 (Now $0.59) 31% increase

Brookdale Beef Stew - $1.49 (Now $1.89) 25% increase

Clancy's potato chips - $0.99 (Now $1.19) 20% increase

If these price changes continue like this, I might as well go to Walmart.

Kyle's reply: Yes, I noticed price increases too, but they seem to be going up all over. Some prices do fluctuate. Sugar for instance was up to $2.35 but backed down again. Their black olives were over $1.00 but are just below again. Guess you have to check everything!

In general, Aldi is still consistently cheaper for the items I purchase over say Pick 'n Save, when not on special.

However, I don't believe that our kid's ability to read and write will count for much in the new Global Village. With all of 'them' coming here to fill our jobs, and all of the remaining jobs going over 'there', the only degree of literacy our kids will need down the road is just enough to scratch a mark on their welfare papers from time to time.
