The ultimate gesture of sportsmanship

Take a look at this picture.

What do you see?

Seems pretty obvious, doesn't it.

Two ballplayers are carrying another player who appears to be injured.

The two who are doing the carrying are obviously not the injured player's teammates.

Nice gesture?

Oh, it's more.

Much more than that.

This is an amazing story that could very well be the greatest display of sportsmanship.

Incredible.

Let me be a "but-monkey" on this one.

Great sportsmanship, incredible act of selflessness, BUT, is this a byproduct of today's "no one's a loser" youth sports programs that don't keep score?  I can't imagine a guys team doing something like this.  Are these girls playing for the fun of it, or to win?

Get up, rub some dirt on it, and drag yourself around the bases!

What would they have done in a similar situation in a soccer game; kick in the winning goal for her?
