(IT'S NOT MY GREATEST BLOG, BUT THE TITLE ALONE WILL DRIVE THE LEFTIES NUTS!)
Two sisters, ages 11 and 3, sold vegetables roadside, much like the time-honored tradition of kids setting up lemonade stands.
Their biggest sellers: melons and zucchini.
That is, until authorities shut them down. Their crime: operating a commercial enterprise in a residential area.
Did this happen in Franklin? After all, the story of the week in our humble, quiet little city has been that WE MUST ENFORCE ALL ORDINANCES!
Gee whiz, even though we just hate beyond hate to do it, if there’s a complaint about an ordinance violation, WE MUST ENFORCE ALL ORDINANCES!
Can’t wait till the police start pulling people over for going 36 in a 35.
WE MUST ENFORCE ALL ORDINANCES!
The girls apparently may not have had the proper permits to sell their squash. That sounds like the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources could have been involved because they insist you get a permit to have a permit that takes three years or your first-born, whichever comes first.
Allow me to remove tongue from cheek. This story didn’t happen in Franklin, and this is one time the dastardly DNR isn’t playing hardball.
