Disappeared.

Evaporated.

Wiped out.

New poll results are significant because the poll surveyed likely voters.

Now scared and worried, watch the left crank up the dirt and sleaze machine.

Post-GOP convention bump.  Happens every election.  I wouldn't read anything into it.

As I stated in a previous blog, both camps usually get convention bumps. Didn't happen this time with the Dems.

Obama got no bump from his overseas trip, no bump from picking tired old VP choice in Biden, no bump from convention.

In the meantime, the GOP is enjoying a riptide of momentum that has been generated by more than just a 3-day convention but by Sarah Palin who's created a buzz that shows no signs of wearing off. Not reading anything into it would be a diastrous strategical error, but go for it, Dems.

....spoken like a true "company man".

Actually most polls had Obama increased his lead to 7% following the DNC convention (up from a dead heat prior to the convention).  As I said, this happens at every convention.  The GOP got a much larger bump this time.

There's no doubt that Palin's "buzz" so far has been a huge boost for the McCain campaign (even if she wasn't his first or second choice or third or....).  Of course, the honeymoon will be over when the media begins homing in on Palin's "Alaska Independence Party" involvement, statements made about the Iraq War, her "bridge to nowhere" flip-flop, the rather "colorful" Facebook commentary from the father of her daughter's kid, etc.

Talk to me in a couple weeks about that "buzz".  Let me know how that's going.

Hopefully the maverick will start acting like the maverick again and stop pandering to the GOP establishment goofballs that enjoy a good narrative (she rides a Harley and shoots guns so she must be a great leader) over a quality, qualified V.P.  We'll see.

By the way, you spelled disastrous wrong and the GOP convention was 4 days (Sept. 1st-4th) not 3 days.

The convention was scheduled for four days but most of the first day, Sept 1 was cancelled because of Hurricane Gustav. Gotta pay attention!

From National Public Radio:

"As Hurricane Gustav barrels toward the Gulf Coast, Republicans have suspended all but essential activities planned for the first day of their convention in St. Paul, Minn.

Republican Sen. John McCain, who is scheduled to receive his party's presidential nomination later this week, announced Sunday an abrupt change of plans for the convention, canceling much of Monday's activities except for some formal party business. He called this a time 'when we have to do away with our party politics, and we have to act as Americans.'"

Also, TV ratings for the GOP Convention only covered Tues-Thurs. It was basically a 3-day convention, but that's way off the topic of this blog, that being, Josh, that your guy is behind and in trouble.

"...Republicans have suspended all but essential activities..."

As I've said many times before.  I'm voting for McCain (despite his major deficiencies as a candidate for President).  I respect Obama and think he would do fine as President but he's more likely maintain the status quo of runaway spending, which will end up taking money out of my pocket.

So?  How's that lead doing?
